our story

Maison is US.  Everything about it is how we like to dine; from the food and wine we serve, to the ambience and vibe we like to create.   It’s about taking your time and sharing moments with friends and loved ones, and enjoying dining out. It’s an experience.

The name, the concept, the brand was just a dream until we found the right building. ‘maison’ is our small family run restaurant by us, Ben Piette [the chef], and wife Lornette.

With a maximum of 5 tables, including Ben’s Table in the ‘kitchen’, maison is intimate and offers a relaxed and personable service.  Open 4 nights a week, you can arrive from 18:30, preference is 18:33 (Lornette is ALWAYS late), with dinner being served from 19:30 for all guests.  We offer an 8 course tasting menu for £85 per person for the food,, bringing a dinner party feel to our ‘living room’.

With its original features, dining is set on the ground floor of our home, 15th Century Wrecclesham House.  Ben fell in love with this 500 year old historic building on paper, when he discovered it had the original bread oven.

On our journey to building our restaurant, we have wanted to keep ‘What’s in the house, remains in the house’, and have adapted to the building’s heritage, keeping and re-using as much of the original, plus reclaimed, materials.  “By working on the house ourselves, it has become a real labour of love.  The dream of building a restaurant in our home is where the name ‘maison’ comes from”.
